It’s the day after the end of a contentious election.
Regardless of whether you are celebrating or hurting, we all have some responsibility as leaders.
If we are happy, we need to be mindful of our tone and how we share our joy. Not everyone shares our elation. Being thoughtful of this will help us to not be ‘tone deaf’ to those around us.
If we are sad, we need to be mindful that people follow their leaders’s modeling and energy. It’s not to say that we should be inauthentic, but finding a way to see beyond our own painful thinking, will help others do the same.
As a part of my community, I know that you are a thoughtful, kind, intentional leader and I am honored to share this space with you.
The work of leading within our homes, communities and organizations is as needed today as it ever was.
I’m sending you all peace and grace as we work hard to lead others through, what may seem to be, irreparable fractures. What happens in the world, happens in the workplace. Just as how we lead our lives, reflects how we lead others.
Take a moment. Reflect on your own thinking and decide WHO you want to be for your team today.
We get to choose.
Acting from choice is how we demonstrate leadership, both for you and for others.
Be well,
Kris
